GEOCACHING - Treasure-hunting using a GPS unit

As part of the up and coming Sport Relief 2012, the students from the Uniformed Services course have been geocaching in the Derwentside area as a reward for completing units from their course. All students and staff enjoyed the activity.

The staff from Geo-Cash Journeys showed the participants how to use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and navigational techniques to locate hide-and-seek containers (called “geocaches” or “caches”) which were hidden in the local area.
